Sculpture for Hotels and Resorts
The setting
The brief
Hotel work is judged on two things: how the piece photographs, and how little trouble it causes once it is in. The arrival sequence is the most photographed square metre of any resort, and a sculpture placed there is doing marketing work every day for twenty years. That argues for a reflective or highly modelled surface that reads well under both daylight and the evening lighting scheme, and against anything that needs specialist maintenance. The second consideration is operational. Installation almost always has to happen inside a night closure without interrupting guest arrivals, which dictates sectional design, crane positioning and a rehearsed sequence rather than an improvised one. Procurement teams also work to fixed FF&E budgets and long approval chains, so an indicative band early is worth more than a precise number late. We quote hotels on a staged basis — concept, developed design, then production — so the project can be approved in the increments the client actually signs off, and we design maintenance down to a wash rather than a contract.

Installed work
Case studies
Completed hotels and resorts work, with the brief, engineering and installation record behind each one.
Our installation record is not published yet. Every project on it belongs to a client, and each one has to agree to be named before it appears here. Tell us the sector and setting you are working in and we will send comparable work directly.
In the meantime
- Pieces we would put in front of youThe selection above, chosen for this setting rather than by catalogue order.
- How a commission runs hereThe five stages, and what each one needs from you.
- All settingsThe other seven sectors, with their own constraints.
