Metal Marine Sculptures

Metal marine sculptures are commissioned pieces, built to the size a site actually needs, from 1.5 to 12 metres. Each piece is cut, formed and welded from plate in our own fabrication hall. We work with specifiers, hotel procurement teams and civic clients, and quote against drawings rather than a catalogue price. Browse the pieces below, or send a brief and a site plan.

About Metal Marine Sculptures

Metal suits marine work for practical reasons rather than aesthetic ones. Pieces here are cut, formed and welded from plate in our own fabrication hall, which lets one design run anywhere between 1.5 and 12 metres without the proportions failing at either end of that range.

Scale is the first decision and it is usually made too late. A marine piece at 1.5 metres is an object people stand beside; at four metres it becomes the thing that orders the space around it. We ask for a site plan, a sight line and a viewing distance before quoting.

Finishes across this collection include mirror polish, satin brush, natural corten weathering and duplex powder coating. Stainless holds its finish with an annual wash, and corten reaches a stable oxide within two seasons. Sample panels are produced and signed off before the piece is finished, so nobody approves a colour from a screen.

Every piece over three metres is issued with a signed calculation checked against the site wind speed. Lead time from approved drawings is typically 10 to 20 weeks ex works, and every order ships with a calculation pack, an anchoring drawing and a lifting plan. If nothing below suits, send a sketch and we will propose a maquette, a band and a programme — or look at our other animals work.
