Metal Sculptures
We fabricate metal sculpture in corten weathering steel, 316L stainless and marine-grade aluminium, dressing joints back by hand until the lines disappear. Everything is cut, formed and welded to the approved model. Pieces are engineered against site wind loading, crated for sea freight, and installed by our own teams or under the supervision of our own engineers.

About metal sculpture
Metal is the material most large outdoor commissions end up in, because it carries the most span for the least weight. Corten weathering steel forms its own oxide skin and needs no coating, though it stains what sits beneath it for the first two years. 316L stainless takes a mirror polish that reads as light rather than as metal, and holds it in coastal air where 304 would not. Marine-grade aluminium is chosen where a crane cannot reach and the piece has to be lifted by hand.
Every piece is engineered before it is made. Wind loading is calculated against the installed location, not against a generic figure, and the anchoring drawing is issued with the structural calculations signed. Sectional assembly is designed around the transport envelope: a piece that cannot be shipped is a piece that cannot be installed.
Finish is decided at model stage, because it changes the fabrication. A mirror polish demands a heavier gauge and more forming time; a painted finish allows a lighter one. Maintenance is a rinse for stainless, nothing at all for corten.
