Bronze Sculptures
We cast in silicon bronze by the lost-wax process, chase every seam by hand and apply patina hot so the colour sits in the metal rather than on it. Large works are cast in sections and welded, with the joins dressed until they cannot be found. Armatures are engineered for the installed piece, not for the foundry floor.

About bronze sculpture
Bronze is chosen when a piece has to last for a century and read as figurative. The lost-wax process reproduces whatever the model holds — a fingerprint in the clay, the grain of the original — which is why the model stage is where the work is really decided.
Large commissions are cast in sections. The section lines are chosen where the form turns away from the eye, then welded, chased and patinated so the seam disappears. Internal armatures are stainless, sized against the installed loading, and isolated from the bronze so the two metals do not react.
Patina is a chemical finish, not a paint. Applied hot, it is part of the surface and will mature rather than fail. A waxed piece wants re-waxing every few years in a polluted or coastal setting; an unwaxed one will continue to move towards green and stop there.
